Peak Season
October – November & March – April
The sweet spot for Morocco across all three landscapes simultaneously — Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, and the Sahara. Temperatures are ideal for medina walking and mountain trekking, desert nights are cold and star-filled, and the light carries a quality that mid-summer and deep winter don’t replicate. Spring brings wildflowers to the Atlas valleys and a fresh, flowering energy. Autumn turns everything golden, the souks quieter, the desert light at its most beautiful.
Shoulder Season
December – February
A quieter, more intimate Morocco. Marrakech empties of crowds, riad courtyards feel genuinely private, and the High Atlas wears snow on its upper ridges — visible from the city’s rooftops on clear mornings. Desert days remain warm and clear; nights are cold enough to make a fire under the Sahara sky feel essential. Occasional rain in the city and snow on the higher passes require some flexibility.
Off Season
May – September
Extreme heat in the city and desert — regularly 40°C and above. The mountains offer relief at altitude. For those drawn to Morocco’s great riads and desert camps, exceptional rates and complete solitude await.
