Floating Over Wadi Rum

In a hot air balloon above Wadi Rum, the ground eases away into quiet distance. Sandstone massifs cast long blue shadows across red plains, colours deepening with the morning light. When you are suspended in still air, the vastness feels both close enough to hold and endlessly beyond reach.

Roman Ruins

Walking Through Ancient Roman Life

The rhythm of sandals on worn paving, wind threading through columns, a voice carrying across the theatre. Laws, trade, public squares, daily routine—patterns that shaped urban life—feel recognisable here, the place where the foundations of the modern world quietly began.

Plan Your Visit

When to Go

Peak Season

March – May ·& September – November

The finest conditions for Jordan — Petra, Wadi Rum, and Amman all in perfect condition simultaneously. March through May brings wildflowers to the highlands and a freshness to the rose-red city. September through November turns the desert golden and long — October perhaps the single finest month, warm enough for Wadi Rum nights to feel magical, cool enough for Petra’s long walks to be deeply pleasurable.

Shoulder Season

December – February

Cool, quiet, and surprisingly rewarding. Petra in near solitude, Wadi Rum at its most stark and atmospheric, and Amman’s food and culture scene entirely unhurried. Occasional rain and cold nights require some flexibility — but the intimacy of Jordan in winter is its own reward.

Off Season

June – August

Intense heat across Petra and Wadi Rum — temperatures regularly exceed 38°C. Aqaba on the Red Sea remains excellent for diving where the heat is offset by the water. Early morning starts are essential for any outdoor sites.

Suggested Stay

7 – 10 Days

Seven days covers Amman, the Dead Sea, Petra, and Wadi Rum unhurriedly — the classic Jordan arc. Ten days adds Little Petra, the desert castles of the eastern badia, or a Wadi Rum night under the stars extended into something truly unhurried.

Pairs Well With

Neighbouring Journeys

Jordan pairs naturally with Egypt for a journey deep into ancient civilisation, Morocco for a broader Arab world arc, Dubai as a natural transit hub, or Israel for a historically layered combination across one of the world’s most extraordinary regions.
